It’s Here

While we wait, here’s a reminder of just how good DaMarcus Beasley can be.

What I’m Watching

Univision starts the show early, with what we can only hope is the pre-game ceremonies kicking off Germany - Costa Rica at 11am. ESPN2 picks up the coverage at 11:55am. Poland - Ecuador on both channels at 3pm. The world’s most stubborn soccer league figures why not, let’s schedule a game when most soccer fans will be watching what they missed while at work. Ladies and gentlemen, we all really need to see Colorado - Real Salt Lake on Direct Kick. All Times Eastern

Quote Of The Day

“One of these squads, a team of seven, will be writing, and drawing, about watching the World Cup from Angola, Argentina, Iran, Japan, Mexico and Spain on a blog called Kicking and Screaming (available to readers with access to the Times Select portion of this site). Team K&S includes three journalists, a blogger/cartoonist, a novelist, a historian and a manga artist.” from The New York Times.

If, like me, you’re thinking this might be the most over-hyped, over-staffed, and over-covered World Cup…. I blame the growing lack of interest in the Olympics.
